Help with terrain files...

Thank you for your response.

I tried to load a .bil file using the UTM 34N coordinate system. That might have been the issue. I thought it would work, but I kept getting the error:
"No terrain data near area of survey!"

It’s working now with WGS84 — I converted all the coordinates to this system, and everything is fine.
One more question, is there any way to have the raster at a bigger resolution?

Have you read https://trac.survex.com/wiki/TerrainData ?  It seems to
answer most of your questions.

Currently only BIL or HGT formats are supported, and only in WGS84
lat/long (EPSG:4326 to be precise).  We now link to GDAL so we could
use that to load other terrain data formats, but it looks like updating
to support it is more work than one might expect.

If you want something to test with that's known to work, I'd suggest
downloading the appropriate tile from the "Viewfinder Panoramas" site
linked from the page above.

GDAL can convert other DEM/DTM formats to BIL (see the gdal_translate
tool).

You'll need to give more detail than "cannot load the surface" for us
to help work out what's going wrong.  What exactly are you trying and
what happens?
