How to get 'process' option back in Windows (vista)

Wookey

WHAT? Wookey using a Windows based programme.....well I never, what's the
world coming to? ;-)

I use Vista all the time and have just tried to replicate what you are
trying to do.

As you say, the right click option does provide the 'process' option for svx
files, but it's got to have the .svx file extension for survex to recognise
it.

I sometimes forget to put the .svx when opening/naming a new file in notepad
and it defaults to a .txt notepad file. This means survex doesn't recognise
it as a readable/processable file so when you right click the 'process'
option isn't there. It also doesn't appear with the survex icon in Windows
Explorer, this is also the way to find the "whole effing filename including
extension", right click and press the 'properties' option, the file path and
type are there under the 'General' tab.

I've tried the wordpad option and pasted one of our Mulu files into it, then
done a 'save as' and put the .svx extension on the end (would otherwise
default to a .rtf extension). It appears with a survex icon (in Windows
Explorer) and allows it to be processed with a right click. It sounds as if
you have omitted to put the .svx on the end when 'saving as'.

Hope this helps..........................enjoy your Windows 'experience'
;-)

Cheers

Matt
