I bet this is the same sort of person who uses Microsoft Word to edit
a two-paragraph note with no formatting ... because Notepad is "too
geeky". There is no hope.
The point of Survex surely is to be the best survey data package
to cope with real-world data, not to be something which tries to
cater to all tastes by providing both familiar-to-migrators and
the-best-way-to-represent-data interfaces which overcomplicate
the code and make both documentation and code harder to maintain.
Providing an input method which feels comfortable to new users but
which doesn't actually cope with all real world data seems like the
height of folly. Lets face it - cave surveying IS geeky ! Do we really
want people who don't understand it operating the software ? Garbage
in, garbage out ....
