The measuring line distance readout in Aven still doesn't work for me
(with wxWidgets 2.6.3 on SuSE Linux 10.0). If in elevation mode without
a second point selected, I still get a vertical distance reading, but as
soon as I choose a second point the box goes blank.

I seem to recall you saying this was a wxWindows bug involving how the
degree sign for the bearing was handled. I will try upgrading my wx to
2.8.0; but couldn't you just leave out the degree sign? "Bearing 172" is
pretty unambiguous, surely -- is there anyone out there who measures
bearings in anything but degrees? Even "Bearing 172 deg" only uses a
tiny fraction more screen real estate.

BTW, I like the easter egg, or should I say easter spud?
