So it is.  That's a bug - the colour range should just depend on the
cave passage.  I guess I've just never noticed because I don't have
surface survey that much higher than the cave entrances.

It should be easy to fix the bug - if you're using Linux I can send a
source patch.  If you're on Windows, you'll need to wait until I can
sort out the next release, which will probably be a week or two.

I'm going to add explicit support for terrain data soon too, which will
probably look better still.
