That differs from my experience.  I like being able to rotate a cave as 
an object, just like in most other 3d viewing environments.  Actually I 
wouldn't be surprised if that wasn't more natural for most newcomers to 
aven (rather than people transfering from 1.0.x).

Most VRML viewers offer multiple viewing modes, including an object 
rotating view, a fly through mode, and possibly others.  Perhaps this 
would be suitable for aven: one set of navigation bindings for 
perspective mode, another to rotate/tilt the cave and another with 
seperate rotation in each axis.

Anyway, this is becoming a bit of a bikeshed issue, and I'm capable of 
altering the bindings myself if I care enough, so I'll leave it there.
