David McKenzie named the PC version of his cave survey
software Walls because he intended to implement the
wall drawing liek he had done many years earlier.
Before he did that, he implemented the error-detection
that he had developed in Ellipse. Last year he put in
the wall and passage detail drawing features. George
Veni gave a talk on it at the NSS Convention. The web
site traffic for downloads exceeded his monthly limit,
so Walls moved to a new home. The new URL is
 http://www.utexas.edu/depts/tnhc/.www/tss/Walls/tsswalls.htm

Carto is available on http://www.psc-cavers.org . My
old CMAP stuff is there too. One result of a program
that morphs the sketches to the survey baseline is that
cavers no longer make rough drafts of their surveys.
The composite morphed sketches are posted on a website.
I do not know if there are any examples in the public
sections of the PSC website. There are some password-
protected groups where new survey gets added within a
week. Just about any serious cave mapper can join
the gangsta-mappers section.
