There's a special case for Mac OS X in the build system - if you build
aven for Mac OS X, then you have to run an extra command to bind GUI
resources into it.  Unfortunately this special case causes the build
system to always try to build aven on Mac OS X, even if it is
implicitly or explicitly disabled by configure.

I'll be releasing a new 1.0 release shortly which will fix this and
has a few other improvements.
