Hi all,

Turns out the cavern is built fine and I can copy it over manually to
/usr/local/bin but the make is trying to build aven even when I have
explicitly set it not to
i.e. have done a make distclean; ./configure --disable-aven; make and
this is the last part of the make:

gcc  -g -O2   -o xcaverot  xcaverot-xcaverot.o xcaverot-xcvrtbut.o
xcaverot-cvroti
mg.o xcaverot-img.o xcaverot-useful.o xcaverot-cmdline.o
xcaverot-message.o xcaver
ot-filename.o xcaverot-osdepend.o xcaverot-z_getopt.o xcaverot-getopt1.o
-L/usr/X1
1R6/lib -lSM -lICE -lX11 -lXext -lm
source='aven.cc' object='aven-aven.o' libtool=no \
depfile='.deps/aven-aven.Po' tmpdepfile='.deps/aven-aven.TPo' \
   /bin/sh ../depcomp \
   -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I. -I.. -DIMG_HOSTED   -DAVEN  -c -o aven-aven.o
`test -f av
en.cc || echo './'`aven.cc
depcomp: Variables source, object and depmode must be set
make[3]: *** [aven-aven.o] Error 1
make[2]: *** [all] Error 2
make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1
make: *** [all] Error 2
survex-1.0.25$

Other than that cavern runs fine on the MacOSX and now I have been able
to get Therion to compile and it runs fine on MacOSX. It will be neat to
play with (being a LaTeX fan). I have still to get therion to compile on
Linux on PPC.
