Survex 0.98 had a *date command, but the arguments were entirely ignored (it
was a placeholder to allow people to enter the date of a survey for use in
future). In 0.99 the arguments to *date are checked. The *date commands in
the sample data were auto-converted from comments, so weren't intended to be
machine readable when entered and so are in a variety of formats, many of
which *date now doesn't understand.
I have already fixed the master copy of the dataset used to produce the
sample data, but failed to upload a replacement. Thanks for bringing this
to my attention - I'll upload a fixed version of the sample data later
today.

Not that I'm aware of, though that doesn't mean there isn't.

Not at present. The list isn't high traffic, so don't be afraid to raise
issues which may already have been covered.
