Yes, fig is a really useful vector file format. There is a (Linux) tool
available called pstoedit which can convert the Postscript output of
Survex into fig and other editable graphics formats. Killustrator, Sketch
and Xfig are nice for processing the converted data. Xfig can save the
cave drawing as LaTeX or Postscript graphics which can included in LaTeX
documents for publication.
