Another reason to keep cavern and its data format lean and mean. With a
Palm one could enter data in the field and get pos info for plotting on
graph paper back at camp. If the data format for cavern started to get
lots more tags or attributes in it to process then its speed and
usefulness on such smaller devices would be compromised. Applications
such as Smaps, Compass, Karst, Walls etc are unlikely to ever run on a
Palm as they are already quite large compared to cavern.
