My bad, it was only cavern that ran. The other three gave the Windows error box "The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142) Click OK to close the application.
C:\Windows\System32> cd "C:\Program Files\Survex"
C:\Program Files\Survex> cavern --help
cavern - Survex 1.4.11
Usage: cavern [OPTION]... [SURVEY_DATA_FILE]
-o, --output=OUTPUT set location for output files
-q, --quiet only show brief summary (-qq for errors only)
-s, --no-auxiliary-files do not create .err file
-w, --warnings-are-errors turn warnings into errors
--log log output to .log file
-v, --3d-version=3D_VERSION specify the 3d file format version to output
--help display this help and exit
--version output version information and exit
C:\Program Files\Survex> survexport --help
C:\Program Files\Survex> aven --help
C:\Program Files\Survex> aven

I'm not sure what to make of it though - `aven --help` should require
**less** initialisation than `aven`, so it is peculiar that the latter works but the former doesn't.
Also odd that you can run aven from the command prompt but it fails if run from the GUI interface.
