Jenny said she was missing the context menu initially on her machine at
work, but it is now there a few days later.  It's unclear what made that
happen though.

You could try running aven and then opening the .svx file via File->Open
to see if that makes the OS notice the new file associations.

Otherwise, have you tried turning it off and on again?
