using inkscape to digitise old surveys

I made a tool here:

which if you follow a simple convention allows you to draw a sketch on 
top of an existing survey (eg a scanned image) in inkscape and save it 
as a viable survex file.  There are a couple of example inkscape (SVG) 
files to illustrate this.  It was originally built so I could estimate 
the length of the Lone Ranger series in Link Pot for the new Northern 
Caves, but it may have other uses.  It is easy to install and should 
work on most platforms.
