The only change is that I've disabled "compiler thread local storage"
in the wxWidgets library, which is the only likely looking issue I
found in their bugtracker to explain the issues Brian and Footleg
reported on XP:

http://trac.wxwidgets.org/ticket/13116

If that is the issue, it sounds like it would probably affect other old
versions (like 95).
