Problems with DXF output

I've been using Survex 1.1.12 to output DXF files for use in ArcGIS.
When I output them by right-clicking on the 3d file and selecting
"Convert to DXF" (which calls cad3d.exe), everything is fine. Specifically,
N, E, and altitude coordinates are preserved, so a point fixed at
which has these coordinates in aven: 786543.42, 3273184.28, 1078.41
and has the same coordinates in the DXF: 786543.42, 3273184.28, 1078.41
Looking at the top of the DXF file, I see the min and max values make sense:
$EXTMIN
10
778087.000000
20
3261366.000000
30
236.000000
9
$EXTMAX
10
794028.710000
20
3290501.000000
30
1585.000000
9
If I output DXF using "Export as" in Aven, the N, E, and altitude coordinates
are munged and their values seem to be relative to an arbitrary (0,0,0) point.
So a point which has these coordinates in aven: 786543.42, 3273184.28, 1078.41
Has these coordinates in the DXF: 268.26, -1529.49, 188.91
Looking at the top of the DXF file, I see that the minimum N, E, and altitude
coordinates are all negative:
$EXTMIN
10
-8188.165000
20
-13347.765000
30
-653.500000
9
$EXTMAX
10
7753.545000
20
15787.235000
30
695.500000
9
Cheers,
Erin
