Survex

Configuring survex 1.1.10 on a FC5 box gives me the following message:

checking for wxgtk-2.6-config... no
checking for wxgtk-2.5-config... no
checking for wxgtk-2.4-config... no
checking for wxgtk-config... no
checking for wx-config... /usr/bin/wx-config
configure: error: '/usr/bin/wx-config' is for a unicode build of 
wxWidgets - Survex requires a non-unicode build

I haven't looked much farther than this (as I have a working version on 
another computer), but would like to get the new machine running survex. 
Does anyone have a way to build  survex on FC5 box, without resorting to 
rebuilding the wx stuff?
