You need to process the .svx file to produce a .3d file using cavern.
Then aven allows you to view the .3d file.

You'll need to open a terminal window
(Application->Accessories->Terminal in the English Ubuntu menu) and then
type "cavern myfile.svx" or similar.  This will produce myfile.3d which
you can then load into aven.

The development version allows you to just process .svx files by loading
them into aven directly.  I'm hoping this will be suitable for release
soon.
