Somebody else noticed this on the expedition I've just returned from, so
it's already fixed.

Hmm, 1.1.9 fixed some encoding issues which were preventing messages
with the degree in from displaying at all on Unix - for me at least,
but it looks like this has caused regressions on other setups.

I'm guessing from the screenshots that you're using Unix.  What does
this report from an xterm?

printenv|grep ^L

(I'm guessing you aren't using a UTF-8 locale).

And what version of wxWidgets are you using?  You can find out by
looking in the "System Information" in Aven's "About" dialog.
