questions on *date and *export

Is there really any need for this? You can always use "anonymous" *begin/*end blocks:

*begin mysurvey

*begin
*date 2006.08.25
[data from first day]
*end

*begin
*date 2006.08.26
[data from second day]
*end

*end mysurvey
