Can't compile under wx 2.6

I've just upgraded my home box to the newly released SuSE Linux 10.0,
which comes with wxWindows 2.6. Whenever I try to compile any version of
Survex under the new system, it refuses, with a whole load of error
messages relating to the wxString and wxChar classes.

Is this easily fixable?
