This is a known problem which Mark is looking into.

Good point.  Mark - you were looking at when to cancel the distance
measuring line.  Do you want to look at this, or shall I?

I've just fixed a stack of key handling problems.

In 0.99-prerelease8, Control+Cursor keys should do the tilting (/ and ' also
work for backward compatibility).  Zoom is on [ and ].  Let me know if
you're still having problems.
