ShowCave is my name for the next release of chasm; coming in under a
fortnight - ie in time for the BCRA conference. It's going to have a new
facility; it will be able to read a script file, and produce a presentation
style sequence.

The script file will specify a sequence of commands; so far the commands
available are....

  colour branch red green blue
  # colour the specified branch with the specified colour

  clearcol branch
  # colour the branch similar to its parent branch

  visible branch
  # set the branch visible

  invisible
  # make the branch invisible

  colmethod int
  # colour the cave according to 0: plain, 1 - Error, 2 - Height, 3 - User
  # defined, 4 - extension design colouring

  view bearing elevation scale x y z
  # set the view looking along bearing and elevation, at scale, with [x,y,z]
  # in the centre of the screen

focus bearing elevation scale x y z [time]
  # move the viewpoint over time seconds(default 2) to the specified viewpoint

  slide x y z [time]
  # move the viewpoint over time seconds(default 2) so the specified point is
  # central

  unfold branch station [count]
  # starting from station, make the legs in branch visible, count at a time
  # (default 5); this makes the cave appear to grow from station

Planned commands include rotate to set the cave spinning, wait - wait for key
or mouse press, some basic looping ability.

Are there any other things that people would want with this?
This facility should eventually become a plug-in for Spud.

For CUCC people - do you want me to get one of these ready for the BCRA
conference?
