This may be of interest to anyone planning to us a GPS to fix or relocate

To summarise it seems that you should be OK provided that you aren't in
a country near Iraq (or whoever the US pick on next).  The US aren't
likely to turn SA back on as it would cause too much disruption to
civilians who've come to rely on it.  (SA is Selective Availability -
the degrading of the signal that used to be applied to the civilian GPS
signal).  What they may do is set up something in the area of operations
- presumably a ground based transmitter broadcasting signals on the GPS
frequencies.
