I was asked to pass this message about the next CREG meet on - they want
new projects to work on. It would certainly be good to get a project going
which produced a next generation electronic surveying device - either
inertial or simply automating the tape/compass/clino process. The
electronics skills of CREG can really help make such a project actually
happen, possibly continuing from Martin Melzer's Auriga efforts which have
currently stalled.

CREG Field Meet

CREG - the BCRA's Cave Radio & Electronics Group - will hold their next
field meet near Crickhowell in South Wales over the weekend on 22nd/23rd
March. Underground and 'round table' sessions are planned plus a meal on the
Saturday evening.

But this isn't an event only for electronics enthusiasts. Following the
successful completion of the new rescue radio, the HeyPhone, CREG members
are looking for new challenges. So if you want some new electronic
equipment for use in caving why don't you come along and 'sell' your idea
to the technically-minded people who will be attending? We hope to have
cave surveyors and cave divers in attendance but whatever your particular
interest we'd like to hear from you.
