<!DOCTYPE html><html><head><title></title></head><body><div style="font-family:Arial;">Hi all, I need some help regarding Compass dat files read (and processed) by Survex</div><div style="font-family:Arial;"><br></div><div style="font-family:Arial;">I
have some cave survey data originally processed by Ariane software,
surveyed in metric units,, that I exported from Ariane to Compass MAK
and Compass DAT files, the issue is that when those files are read and
processed by Survex the length data in the Compass files is read in feet
not in meters, for instance, original survey in Ariane has a total
legnth of 1079m, but after exporting from Ariane to Compass MAK and DAT
files and read by Aven, the total length in Aven is 329m so I guess that
aven is reading the length in MAK and DAT files as feet not meters
(1079 ft equal to 329 m decimals omited)</div><div style="font-family:Arial;"><br></div><div style="font-family:Arial;">I
see on the DAT file that the shot lengths values from station to
station are the same ones that in Ariane, for instance shot form station
0 to 1 in Ariane (metric) is 15.86m, then on the compass exported DAT
file I see also that from station 0 to 1 the length is 15.86 but I do
not know why survex is assuming those lenghts are in feet?</div><div style="font-family:Arial;"><br></div><div style="font-family:Arial;">I'm not used to Compass, is there any way to write down in the compass DAT file that the lenghts are in meters rather than feet?</div><div style="font-family:Arial;"><br></div><div style="font-family:Arial;">Any help would be appreciated</div><div style="font-family:Arial;"><br></div><div style="font-family:Arial;">Josep Guarro</div><div style="font-family:Arial;"><br></div><div id="sig1045801"><div class="signature">-----------------------------------<br></div><div class="signature">Josep Guarro<br></div><div class="signature"><br></div></div><div style="font-family:Arial;"><br></div></body></html>
